{"id":758,"date":"2010-12-08T08:04:00","date_gmt":"2010-12-08T08:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hiredgunhosting.com\/~creation\/?p=758"},"modified":"2012-09-11T16:34:25","modified_gmt":"2012-09-11T20:04:25","slug":"after-annealing-the-beads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/christinamleedesigns.com\/?p=758","title":{"rendered":"After Annealing The Beads\/Design"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Once the beads are annealed in the kiln (see my previous posts) they are ready to incorporate into jewelry.\u00a0 Thus begins the process of design.\u00a0 I am constantly seeing design all around me.\u00a0 I take pictures with my cell phone, or on my camera.\u00a0 I grab a pen and paper and sketch out a design.\u00a0 Sometimes a design comes from something I see someone else wear.\u00a0 Maybe on a TV show or walking down the street.\u00a0 Sometimes I find a picture in a magazine I clip out.\u00a0 Sometimes designs just pop into my head, from trees or nature.\u00a0 I have even dreamed designs.<\/h2>\n<h2>I take all the sketches, photos and magazine pics that I collect, and scan them into my computer.\u00a0 I save them in pdf format.\u00a0 I place all ideas in a folder I call &#8216;sketch pad ideas.&#8217;\u00a0 Then I break them down into two categories.\u00a0 The first is &#8216;Others Ideas&#8217; the second is &#8216;My Ideas&#8217;.\u00a0 I sign and date all my original sketches and write notes on the sketch.\u00a0 Others ideas I do not sign, but still date them and write notes on them.\u00a0 That way when I start looking for ideas I will remember when and where I saw the idea.\u00a0 I never steal someone&#8217;s design, but I use others ideas as a launching pad to stimulate my mind.\u00a0 The collection of sketch pad ideas are just that, ideas.\u00a0 A place to start.\u00a0 I look at someone&#8217;s piece of jewelry and think, how can I change that and make it my own unique piece of jewelry.<\/h2>\n<p>Example:<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;\"><a style=\"clear: left; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_xP4BSzb-7Wg\/TP84TC6KNRI\/AAAAAAAAAAs\/2KmnD3YCmtw\/s1600\/Becky%2527s+Topaz+Necklace+idea+12-8-05.bmp\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/div>\n<h2>The drawing above was an idea I had for a necklace for a birthday present for my Daughter, Becky in December 2005.\u00a0 It was drawn on my computer in Paint program.\u00a0 Since then I have a computer program called Bamboo.\u00a0 (My Son&#8217;s family gave me Bamboo for Christmas in 2008.)\u00a0 It is a drawing tablet that looks like a mouse pad, and the mouse looks like a fat ink pen.\u00a0 You draw with the mouse\/pen on the tablet just like on a sketch pad, which draws right on the computer screen.\u00a0 I love the Bamboo sketch pad.<\/h2>\n<h2>This necklace was designed around the small Topaz gems.\u00a0 I purchased them then had to design a necklace that would fit the small Topaz without overpowering them.\u00a0 Thus the making of the very small clear glass beads.<\/h2>\n<h2>Below is the finished necklace which has 6 of my handmade beads.\u00a0 They are small, clear, wrapped in dichrioc glass and it has 5 Mystic Topaz gems, with a Sterling Silver clasp.\u00a0 Topaz is the Nov birthstone, my daughter&#8217;s birthstone.<\/h2>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_xP4BSzb-7Wg\/TP87QzZY5JI\/AAAAAAAAAAw\/YnrYgd_EbDU\/s1600\/P1010094.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_xP4BSzb-7Wg\/TP87QzZY5JI\/AAAAAAAAAAw\/YnrYgd_EbDU\/s640\/P1010094.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;
