Double V Shell Afghan with Scalloped Edges<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Skill Level:<\/strong>\u00a0 Easy\/Beginner<\/span><\/h4>\n

Materials:
\n<\/strong>Caron Simply Soft (5 skeins 6 oz skeins) or any 4 ply worsted weight yarn
\nColor A: 3 skeins Chocolate, Color B: 2 skeins Watermelon, or colors of your choice.
\nCrochet hook size H<\/span><\/h4>\n

Special Stitches:<\/strong> Double V Shell (dvs) = 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in same space, will be referred to as dvs in pattern below.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Gauge:<\/strong> Not important<\/span><\/h4>\n
\"SANY0011\"<\/a>Close up of the Double V Shell stitch<\/span><\/h5>\n
\"SANY0016\"<\/a>Close up of the scalloped edge.<\/span><\/h5>\n

Pattern:
\n<\/strong>With color A Ch 168.
\nRow 1.<\/strong> dvs (Double V Shell, see special stitches above) in 4th ch from hook (see above for instructions on how to make dvs), *skip 4 ch, dvs in 5th ch*, repeat across between **. Ch 3 turn.<\/span><\/h4>\n
\"SANY0002\"<\/a>Here is what the Double V Shell (dvs) stitch looks Like and the beginning of row 1.<\/span><\/h5>\n
\"SANY0004\"<\/a>End of Row 1<\/span><\/h5>\n

Row 2<\/strong>. *dvs in the top of the 2 ch space of the dvs in previous row*, (in the center top of shell) repeat between ** across. Ch 3 turn.<\/span><\/h4>\n
\"SANY0007\"<\/a>End of Row 2, you can now see the scalloped edges starting to form.<\/span><\/h5>\n

Rows 3-17 <\/strong>(approximately the whole skein of yarn):<\/strong> Repeat row 2.
\nRows 18-34: <\/strong>Change to color B. Repeat row 2.
\nRows 35-51:<\/strong> Change to color A. Repeat row 2.
\nRows 52-68: <\/strong> Change to color B. Repeat row 2.
\nRows 69-85: <\/strong>Change to color A. Repeat row 2.
\nFinal row. *<\/strong>sc in the top of the 2 ch space of the dvs in previous row, ch 5*, repeat between ** across. Fasten off.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Approximate final measurement of afghan are 45\u201d x 60\u201d<\/span><\/h4>\n

PATTERN UPDATE, 2\/29\/16: I made a nice lapgan out of this pattern by ending at row 55. Then going to the Final Row. I changed colors of yarn every 5 rows.\u00a0 I used “I Love This Yarn” from Hobby Lobby.\u00a0 Approximate Lapgan six 45\u201d x 36\u201d<\/span><\/h4>\n
